Author Announces the 2nd Annual Baltimore Urban Book Festival
Baltimore, MD. --- The second annual Baltimore Urban Book Festival (BUBF) will be held in historic downtown Fells Point at The Fredrick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum on May 6, 2012
1pm – 8pm
This public event is growing to be one the state’s premier book festival—with more than forty writers from around the country, where visitors can come and meet with and hear from their favorite authors and speakers.
Programs and activities include author appearances, book signings, musical performances, and an exhibit area featuring literary organizations and vendors selling books and other items of interest to booklovers. A children’s activity area organized by Baltimore Urban Book Festival is sure to make this a day of fun for the entire family.
The 2012 festival will include internationally Omar Tyree, a New York Times best-selling author, a 2001 NAACP Image Award recipient for Outstanding Literature in Fiction, and a 2006 Phillis Wheatley Literary Award winner for Body of Work in Urban Fiction, has published 16 books and has sold nearly 2 million copies worldwide that has generated more than $30 million. With a degree in Print Journalism from Howard University in 1991, Tyree has been recognized as one of the most renowned contemporary writers in the literary community. He is also an informed and passionate speaker on various community-related and intellectual topics.
