Baltimore Urban Book Fest May 6, 2012



It is my pleasure to provide this brief MEDIA kit to introduce you to the Baltimore Urban Book Festival in Baltimore, Maryland. 2011 was the premier year for the Baltimore Urban Book Festival. It was such a great success that our founder Chris Hicks is presenting this event once again in 2012. Our date this year is May 6, 2012. More than 50 writers, poets, scholars and industry professionals will read from and discuss their works throughout the day in covered tents. Fun activities for the kids, live music, food, all this and more will be presented this year at the Baltimore Urban Book Festival. The event will take place at The Fredrick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum. A full appearance schedule will be available at the festival gate.

Authors

A number of Authors will promote their book and literary organizations at the event. Authors will also be on hand to sell books and other items of interest to booklovers of all ages.

Book Signings

Authors will be available to signs books purchased at the festival, as well as those brought from home. A schedule of book signings will be available at the festival gate.

Children’s Activities

Meeting a “real-life” author is a formative experience for children and adolescents. In addition to meeting some of their favorite authors, children will enjoy an activity area organized by Baltimore Urban Book Festival that features educational games, arts and crafts, and story telling, face painting, and free books giveaways.

Special Guest Appearance Featured Author

This year our Featured Author Will be the known New York Times best-selling author Omar Tyree.

Refreshments

Food vendors will offer items available for purchase. Tables will be available for dining. Guests may also bring their own picnic faire and enjoy picnicking near the Harbor.

Authors conducting Workshops and Panel discussions to be announced.
